Technology Instructional Coach Walled Lake Consolidated Schools Google Classroom is here and has changed the game for busy teachers in Google Apps for Education districts. It takes the hassle out of organizing and sharing files with students and makes it easy to grade and provide instant feedback to students. Join me as I walk you through setting up your own Google Classroom and explore how it ties into the rest of the Google Apps Suite. To fully participate, attendees must have a Google Apps for Education account with basic/beginner knowledge of the Google Apps for Education suite.

The STEAM Playground

Third Grade Teacher Walled Lake Consolidated Schools Children are hard-wired to discover through play. For the last few years, I have had an Energy Playground in my elementary classroom, allowing the students to discover science, make connections, and explore! Come play in the STEAM Playground and explore the world of circuits, digital tools to engage with the arts, augmented reality, and robotics. Both the CCSS and the NGSS emphasize the importance of students posing questions, following multi-step procedures, performing technical tasks, and writing to document their journey! Come play and discover how fun circuits can be with the STEAM Playground!

Our learning goal for this session is to inspire you to start your own elementary coding clubs and have students become designers and/or creators of their own digital content.
